Wii!

We recently obtained the new Nintendo game console, the Wii. Laura love it, and is actually very good. She can beat me pretty easily in a game of bowling.

She is also quite the little teacher. After she had been playing the Wii with her Daddy for a while I was going to play a game with her. She told me exactly how to hold the controller and what buttons to press.

Alli tooth update

I noticed recently that Alli had teeth that were hiding from me way in the back, and today a new one just broke through on the top front. So all total she has 8.

Halloween

It's a little late, but...
Halloween was lots of fun. The girls dressed up as Mario and Baby Mario. I was trying to sew a Mario hat for Laura and it worked, except that it was too small, so Laura said, "You can make me a new hat and it can be Alli's hat and she'll be baby Mario" (which, is actually a nintendo character). So that's what we did, and they were adorable.

Turtle

This is the water turtle that we found on the side of the road the other day. Laura and Alli both got a kick out of keeping it in our bathtub for the night. (It was subsequently released at the Auburn Arboretum pond)

Laura at Lab

Laura has gone to a couple of Invertebrate Zoology labs with me. She loves looking for things under the microscope. After we left lab the second time she said she wanted a microscope...a pink one, with glitter. So as you can see, she's not just like me :-)

Yellow Belt

Laura received her yellow belt in karate last Wednesday. In order to get this, she had to attend 16 classes in a two month period and undergo a series of test, including punching/kicking combinations, one-steps (defense moves), verbal questions, and breaking a board. We are very proud.

Karate

Laura is now in karate lessons. Tonight she surprised me when we were horsing around on the floor, she punched me and I said, "no punching"...and she says, well I'll pretend to punch you...
then she proceeds to do her one step one routine from karate, including telling me what moves I should make as the instructor.

Directions to the CareBears

Laura told us she had a dream last night and it showed her how to get to the care bears. It went something like this...
go straight, then left, then right, then down, straight, left, right, down, straight, left, right, down, straight, left, right, down, then hop on the clouds before the clouds go back and ride them to the Carebears.

Ok, we're going to try this again. Quick post...
Alli's second tooth is just starting to poke through. Laura is taking karate. Both are happy and healthy.

I took the girls to the Equestrian meet today. Laura got to ride a horse again, and she also helped to paint this very patient horse named Blue.

Alli's Test

Alli went to the hospital today and had a VCUG and a Renal Ultrasound done. They were looking to see if she had reflux of urine into the kidneys. Everything looked fine, though.
